What is the Rochelle Park Police Foundation?
The Rochelle Park Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Corporation meaning donors can deduct contributions they make under IRC Section 170. It will be comprised of board members from various businesses and government agencies in Rochelle Park, including the Chief of Police, Dean Pinto. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to use the donations collected to assist the police department in funding a variety of projects, equipment and community relations’ events and initiatives.
The Rochelle Park Police Foundation will award a number of scholarships annually to qualified applicants from the Rochelle Park School District that are pursuing a career in law enforcement as well as the children of police department members regardless of their career path.
The Foundation will also support a number of police department community events and initiatives, such as; a police department open house, Junior Police Academy, Explorer Scout Program, The Veteran Officers Association, National Night Out, Coffee with a Cop, the L.E.A.D. program in our local schools and other valuable programs that would otherwise not be possible.
Chief Pinto is looking to expand the Foundation in the next few years to include more programs for our youth. He believes reaching children at a young age will build relationships between law enforcement and our community. When you start from the ground up your chances of success greatly increase.
